Celebrating Wellness and Community: The Third Annual Baffin x CMHA Ride Don’t Hide Event

Baffin HQ was buzzing with energy and enthusiasm on Wednesday, June 12th as we hosted the third annual Baffin x Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Ride Don’t Hide event. This initiative, held every June across Canada, brings together thousands of riders, walkers, runners, yogis, spinners, dancers, HIIT trainers, and more, all united in their commitment to raising funds for mental health within our communities. 

This year, Baffin truly embodied the spirit of Ride Don't Hide, participating in various activities throughout the day focused on health and wellness. Baffin headquarters transformed into a vibrant hub of activity, celebrating not just physical health, but also mental well-being. Here’s a look at the day’s schedule:

 

A Day of Health and Wellness 

Breakfast Smoothie Bar by HEAL: 
Baffin kicked off the day with a nutritious start, thanks to the delicious smoothie bar provided by HEAL. Energizing and refreshing, these smoothies were the perfect way to get everyone ready for a day of activities.  

Hike Led by Senior Vice President, Mark Hubner: 
Participants enjoyed the great outdoors with a refreshing hike led by Baffin’s Senior Vice President, Mark Hubner. At Baffin, we understand the value of connecting with nature and each other while promoting physical fitness and mental clarity.

Mindful Colouring: 
A session of mindful colouring offered a relaxing and creative outlet, helping to reduce stress and encourage mindfulness. 

Muay Thai: 
For those looking for a high-energy workout, our Muay Thai session offered Baffin employees a chance to release some steam and get active. This martial art provided not only a rigorous physical challenge but also an excellent way to relieve stress and boost confidence.

Food Truck by Curbside Foods: 
Delicious and convenient, the Curbside Foods truck offered a variety of tasty options, ensuring everyone stayed fueled and satisfied throughout the day. 

Puppy Yoga by Yoga Kawa: 
One of the most popular activities, puppy yoga by Yoga Kawa combined the therapeutic benefits of yoga with the joy of playful puppies. It was a heartwarming and relaxing experience for all.

Wellness Walk: 
A gentle wellness walk provided a chance for participants to stretch their legs, enjoy the fresh air, and engage in casual conversation, all while promoting physical activity. 

Basketball: 
For those with a competitive spirit, our basketball games were a great way to get moving and have fun, fostering teamwork and camaraderie. 

Stretching: 
A dedicated stretching session helped participants to unwind and improve their flexibility, essential for overall physical health. 

Meditation: 
Our meditation session offered a peaceful break in the day, allowing participants to practice mindfulness and achieve a state of calm. 

30-minute Massage by Massage Club: 
Professional massages provided by Massage Club were a luxurious treat, helping to relieve tension and promote relaxation. 

30-minute Express Facials by Serenity’s Touch: 
Express facials by Serenity’s Touch offered a quick and refreshing way for participants to pamper themselves, leaving them feeling rejuvenated. 

 

A Community Effort 

This event was made possible by the incredible support of Baffin’s Corporate Citizenship, Social, and People & Culture Employee Advisory Groups, along with the enthusiastic participation of Baffin employees. Their dedication and hard work ensured the day was a resounding success, highlighting the importance of community and collective effort in supporting mental health initiatives.
